    This book is a standard edition in English version of the laws and administrative regulations of the People’s Republic of China, translated and compiled under the aegis of the legislative Affairs Office of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China and Published by the China Legal Publishing House, with a view to meeting the needs of people of various circles, both at home and abroad, to get a comprehensive knowledge of China’s laws and regulations.
    This book is an comprehensive edition in English version of the laws and regulations approved by the Chinese government which is translated and finalized by the staff the Legislative Affairs Commission if the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress, the Legislative Affairs Office the State Council, and a group of China and Foreign Legal and linguistic experts for years.
    This book consist of 1183 laws and decisions on legal issues, administrative regulations and rules and a number of other regulatory document from September, 1949 to December, 2000 enacted respectively by the National People’s Congress or its Standing Committee or the state Council or the departments and commissions under the State Council.
